Program Overview
This course teaches students the skills and knowledge required to get employment as a Personal Care Aide (PCA). This caregiving training course is a faster way to begin a career in healthcare and provides an introduction to students who are planning to take the CNA Course.
Personal Care Aide: (80 hrs)
Brief Course Description:
This competency-based course is designed to prepare students to give basic client care in either a home setting, long-term care facility, adult day care, or an acute hospital. This course provides instruction in introduction, interpersonal skills and qualities of a patient care aide, patient’s rights, safety, infection control, body mechanics, special clients and special needs, communication, client care, nutrition, care of the home, client emergencies, and employability skills.
