Home Health Aide (HHA)

Program Overview: 

This course will supply students who already have an active CNA license or have recently successfully completed our CNA course with a supplemental Home Health Aide (HHA) certificate.

Home Health Aide (Supplemental):  (40hrs)

Brief Course Description:

This competency-based course trains students to give basic nursing care in the home setting. Emphasis is given to the philosophy of nursing, safety principles in the home, and infection control methods as used by the home health aide. Nutrition in relation to maintenance of health is stressed. Integrated throughout the program are methods for meeting the social and psychological needs of the client.

Cost of books, supplies and or fees:  Approximately $35 + scrubs + CNA liability insurance

Course Prerequisites:  Evidence of COVID vaccination + booster and flu shots, Social Security card or ITIN number, ability to pass criminal background check, physical and drug screen exams, active California CNA license, or recent successful completion of our CNA course. 

Reading assessment required: Yes -  235 or higher on CASAS GOALS reading assessment

Math Assessment required:  Yes -  236 of higher on CASAS GOALS math assessment
